Fender Jazzmaster

The Fender Jazzmaster was first introduced in 1958 and was intended to be a successor to Fender's previous models that would also appeal to the jazz guitarist. Although it was not embraced by the jazz community, the Jazzmaster has since gained a devoted following across many styles of music. Many guitarists appreciated the offset body shape, the fresh sounds from its large single-coil pickups and the tremolo tailpiece.

The Jazzmaster is now one of Fender's most popular guitars. It was widely used in the 60s and has now become an indie classic. The lead/rhythm circuits are great for creating new sounds. It is a favourite of many guitarists including Elvis Costello and Slipknot's Jim Root, who even has some signature models. From grunge to rock, it is a great choice for those looking to break with traditions!

From the Vintera and Player Jazzmaster range right through to the American Professional II series, Fender have made sure this guitar is available to musicians across a number of price points. Although some models now feature humbuckers or a hardtail bridge, most stick with the same main features that give the Jazzmaster its distinctive look, feel and sound.
