About MXR
MXR has become synonymous with great tones and solid reliability. Starting around 1971, the company was supposedly named after their previous business of repairing mixers and thus they named the company MXR. From the release of their first pedal, the Phase 90, MXR had already cemented themselves as one of the timeless names in guitar accessories. Being picked up by the legendary Eddie Van Halen, the Phase 90 can be heard many times on the first two Van Halen albums. Following years saw similar releases of pedals that gave MXR a highly reputable name for great tone and quality such as the Dyna Comp, the Blue Box Octave Fuzz, and the Phase 45.
MXR was bought by Jim Dunlop in 1987 and since then MXR has seen faithful reissues of classic designs as well as continuing to innovate with new designs that uphold the legendary MXR name. They are all built with reliable quality that can be expected from Dunlop products. Today you can find classic and new pedals alongside reliable power supplies, and professional grade instrument cables.
