The SE CE 24 pairs the traditional PRS Custom 24 combination of a maple top, mahogany back, and rosewood fretboard with a bolt-on maple neck. The added snap and response of bolt-on construction has been an essential part of guitar history from the beginning, and the CE’s voice and appointments carry that tradition forward with PRS’s unique spin on a classic. The 85/15 “S” pickups provide extended high and low end with clarity and balance, while the push/pull tone control adds the versatility of coil splits. The PRS SE CE 24 delivers tone, playability, and classic PRS looks that players of all styles can rock.

Can't believe what a big step up from the squier cv's I'm used to

Really impressed with my first PRS, and have played it literally non stop for the last three weeks. To be pedantic the strings it came with are way too light a gauge for my taste, but other than that? Can't fault it. I really like the feel and speed of the neck, the guitar is well built and the tone of the bridge humbucker through a thirty five year old 50w Marshall 2x12 combo with a Boss HM-2 driving the clean channel is absolutely awesome. Somebody else's opinion: it's not something I really use but my brother (we play quite different styles) loves the coil-tapped tones from all three positions. A guitar for less than 500 notes (there was a very nice discount from guitarguitar) that plays better than my late 1990s Les Paul Standard, which I thought until now was the absolute dogs.
