What we say:

At A Glance

The Epiphone Shinichi Ubukata ES-355 Custom Bigsby Sixties Cherry produces a sound of its own with a stunning blend of classic and modern features. This striking signature model from the alt-rock hero (Ellegarden and Nothing’s Carved in Stone) certainly has a traditional influence yet unashamedly steps into the contemporary world with its carefully chosen specs. From the diamond f-holes to the Varitone selector, along with its many other premium features, this ES model is a special one indeed.

Features We Love:

Gibson USA Pickups

Shinichi recognises the importance of great tone and this set of Gibson 57 Classic humbuckers deliver exactly that. From sparkling cleans to crunchy rhythms, the full tone and balanced response have you all covered.

Bigsby Vibrato

Nothing sounds quite like a Bigsby. That distinctive vibrato it produces adds a tasteful sonic movement to chords and single notes with impeccable style. The ABR-1 LockTone bridge is the perfect partner for keeping your tuning stability strong too!

Ebony Fingerboard

Often reserved for guitars at a much higher price point, an ebony fingerboard adds yet another level of class to Ubukata's signature model. If feels great and also offers a visual contrast to the block inlays.

Hard Case

Keeping your instrument safe during transit in a durable case is obviously very important but when you open up a case like this and are greeted with such a gorgeous interior, it makes taking the guitar out feel like a special moment every time.

Who Is It For?

Whether you are a fan of Shinichi Ubukata or are looking for an ES model with a difference, this Custom signature model ticks a lot of boxes.

Highlights:

  • Gibson 57 Classic humbuckers
  • Distinctive style that builds on a classic
  • Excellent for many styles of music, especially rock and indie

Condition Report

The guitar has a small chip out the lacquer on the neck, next to the 7th fret marker.

Customer reviews

Overall Rating 5/5 (2 reviews)

This guitar is cool! The usual Epiphone QC issues are noticeable but guitar guitar as a retailer did an awesome job, prompt delivery and sorted out one or two issues I had post purchase. The guitar has great specs and the Gibson pickups sound great. Nice warm tones and just looks stunning. Comfy neck although it is a bit sticky due to the poly lacquer. My only complaint is Epiphone QC, my high E string is getting stuck beneath the fret wire as it must be lifting slightly but it’s something I’ll have to get a luthier to sort. Not worth sending the guitar back for and some might argue it’s to be expected with the guitar being made in china! Overall, im happy. Would recommend

Guitarguitar provided a professional and speedy service. We called them up to ask if they had the guitar in stock, and they assured us they could get it to us quickly, which they did. It arrived well packaged and on time; I would strongly recommend using them
