What we say:
At A Glance
The Fender Custom Shop guitarguitar Dealer Select 59 Stratocaster NOS Flash Coat Lacquer is a real delight. Fender Custom Shop Stratocasters are pretty special in their own right but this Dealer Select model takes it to the next level. An extremely comfortable 7.25" - 9.5" compound radius will have you playing for hours on end and the 22 Narrow Tall frets add just enough of a modern touch without taking away from the classic influence. 1959 was a very important year for guitars and this model captures some of that magic into its look, sound, and feel.
Features We Love:
Dealer Select
This Fender Custom Shop Dealer Select Late 59 Stratocaster isn't one you'll see every day. With its carefully chosen specifications, you get some remarkable features that make it feel like you've just stepped back in time. From the 1959 "D" neck shape to the Handwound 60's Strat single coil pickups, this guitar is an absolute joy to play.
Crafted in the Custom Shop
Home to some of the most talented luthiers in the world, Fender Custom Shop has been producing incredible guitars since they first opened back in 1987. With a wealth of knowledge and skill all under one roof, each guitar is instilled with some of that Custom Shop magic.
Flash Coat Nitro Finish
This is a thinner finish than we’ve ever had before, and it has been carefully created from three layers. Firstly, there is a super thin sealer coat, followed by the colour and then a topcoat. Each coat is nitrocellulose - it may be a surprise to learn that even some classic-era Fenders had non-nitro sealers, for example - and each coat is extremely thin, making the whole finish far thinner than even the standard level of nitro finish used on Custom Shop guitars.
Who Is It For?
If you appreciate a Stratocaster that has been carefully crafted with vintage-inspired specifications and a retro look then this is an outright winner.
Highlights:
- Specially chosen specifications
- Full of retro style
- Excellent range of quintessential Strat tones
- Unique Flash Coat Lacquer finish
