For those looking for Yamaha quality but perhaps in a design that’s slightly smaller and more manageable than a dreadnought, try the FS range. These are sister models to the massively popular FG series and have a smaller, folk size body. This makes handling the guitar easier and more comfortable than bigger bodied models. Sonically you also get a tighter sound with more focus on the fundamental note. These models (like any guitar) can handle any technique but on this case fingerpicking styles are especially suitable.

Solid Spruce is a natural choice for a guitar top: it is a lively sounding wood that resonates well and has the right level of stiffness to make for a strongly constructed guitar that sounds excellent. Of course, the more you play the guitar, the more the top vibrates and the better it will sound over time!

The FS820 has a very playable neck. The body and neck are both bound with cream plastic too. This guitar represents excellent value: a solid topped Yamaha with a smaller size, a great feel and a greater sound!
