What we say:

At A Glance

The Everly Brothers, Elvis 'The King' Presley, Emmylou Harris, Bob Dylan... so many musical legends have chosen the Jumbo bodied J-200 as their go-to acoustic for its projection, attitude, and wide coverage of frequencies. This classic design has also been a huge success for Epiphone and this EC Studio model offers a player-friendly edition of those classic curves. The solid spruce top is accompanied by a cutaway for high fret access and a Fishman pickup system.

Features We Love:

Presys Preamp

Working in conjunction with the Sonicore pickup is the Presys preamp. It features an onboard chromatic tuner, master volume, contour, and a phase switch. So basically, all the controls you need in order to shape and fine-tune your sound.

Grover Rotomatic Tuners

Featuring an 18:1 ratio, these Grovers are a great addition. They provide excellent tuning stability and make string changes quick and easy. No matter how hard you are strumming at least you know that these will be holding your strings firmly and reliably.

Spruce and Maple

The top is solid spruce, giving a bright and full tone. Spruce is a wood that sounds even better with age so the more you play it, the greater it will become. Select maple is used for the body and hard maple for the neck. When paired with the spruce top, the result is a well-constructed guitar that sings with a well-defined and full character.

Highlights:

  • A classic looking model at an affordable price
  • Extremely versatile due to the onboard pickup system
  • Epiphone quality components and construction

Customer reviews

Overall Rating 5/5 (10 reviews)

Bought as back up for my gigging guitar a Gibson j200 studio. After much research, I decided on the epiphone, wow! So pleased with the sound, features, playability, set up, feel, I could go on. Amazing value, up there with much more expensive guitars, fantastic value.

Lovely crunchy sound from the included metal strings. Guitar body is nicely made, although the piano key-black body of the guitar is a fingerprint/smudge magnet!

So I upgraded my guitar and after reading a raft of reviews I made the choice on this Guitar. Have not looked back and will no doubt when I get to a more professional level will invest more but boy does this Guitar tick all the boxes for me. Just make sure that you spend some time setting up or get someone to do it for you.
