What we say:
At A Glance:
D'Angelico's Excel Mini DC is a beautiful smaller-bodied semi-hollow guitar that features a player-friendly design, quality hardware and the signature D'Angelico appointments that will set it aside from regular hollowbody guitars. From the C-shape neck profile, to the Seymour Duncan 59 humbuckers and ornate embellishments, this is a stylish and great sounding guitar that won't get in the way of your playing.
We love this guitar's vintage aesthetic and think it would make a great investment for a student guitarist or a regular gigging guitar for professional musicians.
Features We Love:
Compact Design
The guitar features an undersized 14-inch-wide body and a compact headstock design, but maintains a standard 24.75" scale length. Making this a great option for smaller sized players or players who want to be active on stage, without compromising string tension or tone.
Seymour Duncan 59 Humbuckers with Coil-Splitting
The Seymour Duncan 59 set taps into that classic P.A.F tone, these wax potted humbuckers use alnico 5 bar magnets to allow for playing at louder volumes and give the guitar a sweet vintage tone without compromising clarity. To maximise the guitar's range of tones, the humbuckers can be split to give the guitar an authentic single-coil sound that sounds great on clean and overdriven tones.
Slim-C and Modern Radius
The use of a set neck with a "C" profile and a 14-inch fingerboard radius makes this an incredibly easy guitar to play, even for smaller players, without compromising sustain or tone.
Highlights:
- Smaller size promotes comfort and playability
- Quality build and tones makes this an ideal option for gigging guitarists
- Hardtail construction offers great tuning stability
Condition Report
This guitar has a scratch on the reverse of the top horn and some slight scratches on the scratch plate. There are also some lacuqer cracks and finish flaws around the nut and headstock.
