What we say:

At A Glance

Dating back to 1958, the Gibson ES-335 set a high standard with what has become an iconic design. This model takes its cues from the original but has updated it with some modern features that deliver superb tone and quality. A hand-rolled Rounded C mahogany neck is a comfortable and faithful historic touch. The T-Type pickups give a slightly different tonal flavour but maintain a sound that we all know and love. As you would expect from Gibson, the build quality is impressive and the Vintage Ebony finish gives that timeless look. The ES-335 has been the choice of many musicians over the years and continues to be favoured by many - with this model it is easy to see why.

Features We Love:

Gibson T-Type Pickups

A pair of Calibrated T-Type pickups deliver a superb variety of humbucker sounds. Based on the old 'T-Top' pickups, these are a welcomed addition due to the high popularity of the originals. More modern sounding than the PAF, they deliver a classic sound with a touch of the contemporary.

Vintage Deluxe Tuners

The tuners look great with the keystone buttons but more importantly, they perform to a high standard. The tuning stability is impressive and along with the aluminium bridge and Stop Bar tailpiece, intonation is accurate.

Electronics

Working in conjunction with the Gibson pickups, the electronics play a large part in the overall tonal excellence of this instrument. Handwired 500k potentiometers ensure the pickups sound bright and warm while the orange drop capacitors provide definition and reliability.

Highlights:

  • Gibson build quality
  • Classic design with some modern features for greater tone
  • Great example of a beautifully made ES guitar

Customer reviews

Overall Rating 5/5 (2 reviews)

Guitar was better than expected. A tiny finish flaw on the neck joint and near the pickup but it didn?t bother me. Bought it blind and never I have never done that before with a guitar of this price but out of the box was great.just needed a minor set up for my own preferences. Gibson seem to have got back to old standards. A lot money for an instrument yes. But it meets expectations and will be in my collection or welcome in anyone else?s for years to come.
