What we say:

Yamaha’s FG line has been in constant production since the mid 60s and is now something of a minor classic. Yamaha’s take on the dreadnought, the FG (presumably for Folk Guitar) is a great amalgamation of good design, excellent production standards and fantastic value for money.

The FG830 builds on the success of the FG800 and FG820 by adding rosewood for the back & sides, creating a sound that has more harmonic content and a little less mid range. Strumming sounds more effective than ever as a result!

As well as the rosewood, the FG830 enjoys some cosmetic upgrades that really enhance the guitar’s appearance: this has binding on the headstock, fingerboard and body (multi-ply binding on the body) and the soundhole rosette now has inlaid abalone, a beautiful touch! The FG830, available in Natural, is an excellent choice for the guitarist looking for an affordable all-rounder that looks and sounds great.

Great guitar, nice feel and seems premium for the price. It's ready to play straight out the box after tuning. I'm an advanced beginner at best but the guitar makes me want to practice and play most days!

Beautiful guitar,i fislrst learnt on the fg730 red label and regretted selling it,i had bought many other acoustics but was never quite happy enough even expensive ones,sp i bought this and its a super guitar, very comfortable and sounds sublime absolutely awesome, set up on arrival was very good and quick tune up was all that it needed, everything was good as you expect with yamaha guitars, neck is nice and slim in hand making playing a breeze, come with free fg gigbag too.

Lovely guitar, beautiful sound. Well set up straight out of the box. Now the strings have settled in, it stays in tune. Sustain is good. Intonation spot on. I have tried to find a guitar that is suitable for me, over the past year, including a Epiphone EJ-200, a Tanglewood Discovery and a Faith Naked Venus. Although they are all nice guitars, they did not have the deep bass sound I was looking for.On the recommendation of a guitar luthier, I decided to try the Yamaha fg-830. I am not a good guitar player, I would call myself an advanced beginner but I now think I have found the perfect guitar for me.
