What we say:
At A Glance:
The Roland Octapad takes the original electronic drum performance pad and updates it for the 21st century. Featuring eight velocity-sensitive pads, four dual-zone trigger inputs, a hi-hat controller input and over 600 sounds, making the Octapad the ultimate way to upgrade your drumming set up.
Features We Love:
Sounds
The SPD-30 is host to 99 kits and 670 sounds, including everything from acoustic drums to world percussion, electronic sounds and melodic tones. If it's a percussion related sound, you can find here. Kits are easy to tailor to your preference and each sound can be tuned, muffled and even have effects applied to it.
Pads
The Octapad features 8 velocity-sensitive pads, each with a natural rebound. Four dual-zone trigger inputs allow for easy expansion and are compatible with most modern drum pads and triggers. Finally, the hi-hat control can be used with compatible pedals for opening and closing hi-hat sounds. Essentially, fully expanded, the SPD-30 works just like an electronic drum kit.
Phrase Loops
Up to 50 phrase loops can be recorded and recalled, each with up to 3 layers. These could be used for setting tempos, practice or even as an extra layer in your live sound.
Highlights:
- The pads feel natural and wont cause fatigue
- Huge range of usable sounds
- Easy to expand and will easily fit your set up
- Can be mounted just like a rack tom
