Which strings are best for an electro acoustic guitar?

The best strings to use with an electro acoustic guitar are phosphor bronze because they have a warm sound which interacts nicely with a piezo pickup. Other strings such as 80/20 Bronze can sound brittle when amplified like this.

Can an electro acoustic guitar sound like an electric?

Generally speaking, no. Even if plugged into an electric guitar amplifier, an electro acoustic guitar will still have a distinct acoustic character.
