Gibson 2024 J-185 Original Vintage Sunburst (Pre-Owned) #20254114

What we say:

At A Glance

Gibson have produced a large number of acoustic instruments over the years, most of which are now instantly recognisable classics. For some unknown reason the J-185 seems to have slipped under that radar yet is a well loved model for any who know about it. It was originally released in the early 1950s and was to be a slightly smaller version of the SJ-200. The reduced body size certainly doesn't lessen the quality of tone with the impressive balanced sound available. An equal response makes it a great choice for those who perform and record as it keeps a consistent sound. The LR Baggs pickup system also means it can be used plugged in for the best of both worlds. The body shape and size are great for nearly all players making it a great all rounder.

Features We Love:

Gotoh Tuners

Acoustic instruments are often used for solo performances meaning every aspect of playing can be heard. The Gotoh tuners ensure that you are accurately in tune and stay there so that your playing sounds the best it can.

LR Baggs VTC

Opening up this model to even more diversity is the LR Baggs VTC. It allows the player to use this guitar in a number of musical settings, such as being able to plug in when extra volume is required. This makes it an ideal choice for those who tour and perform regularly.

Sitka Spruce Top

One of the defining characteristics in the excellent sound of this guitar is the choice of sitka spruce for the top wood. It produces a bright yet even tone that cuts through well. It is also a wood that sounds even better as it ages so you are investing in a great instrument for the future too.

Highlights:

• An excellent all round guitar that will sound great in any setting
• High quality of craft from Gibson
• A lesser known model that excels in a number of areas
