Neck
Ibanez's roasting process on the AZ242BC's maple neck ensures an unparalleled level of durability, stability, and tolerance of temperature changes. This makes it an outstanding tool to stand up to anything heavy playing and touring can throw at it. The neck profile makes this guitar gorgeously playable, thanks to the smooth oval neck shape and rolled fretboard edges.
Electronics
The AZ242BC is rigged with the Seymour Duncan Hyperion HH pickup set, featuring moderate output through Alnico-5 magnets to ensure a clear pick attack and fundamental tone, even when using loads of gain. These pickups are paired with Ibanez's dyna-MIX 10 switching system with Alter Switch. In position 1, the selector gives you a 5-way HH pickup selection profile. In position 2, the humbuckers are Power Tapped to deliver a lower, more singlecoil-esque output level and tone, without removing the hum-cancelling capabilities. In total, you're left with 10 unique pickup options.
Body Contouring
This guitar's back and forearm contours make the guitar fit the body closely for maximum playing comfort, while the differing radii on each body curve ensure this guitar plays just as well sitting down or standing up. Lastly, the pronounced contouring on the neck heel ensures absolutely unfettered access to every part of the fingerboard for wherever the music carries you.
