Breedlove Pursuit EX S Concert Nylon Red Cedar/Myrtlewood (Pre-Owned)

What we say:

At A Glance:

The Pursuit Exotic S Concert Nylon CE Red Cedar/Myrtlewood is a stunning nylon strung acoustic that's a dream for any style of guitarist. The Concert model is Breedlove's most popular, delivering a balance between compact comfort and big body sound that lends itself superbly to any playing situation.

This model features a superb Red Cedar top, a material noted in classical guitar circles for its dynamic response to fingerpicked nylon strings, and Ecotonewood layered Myrtlewood and Mahogany back and sides.

The Pursuit Exotic S Concert Nylon CE also comes rigged with the superb Fishman Presys I pickup and preamp system. Fishman are rightly well known for their high quality guitar electronics, so you can be assured of a superb recreation of your guitar's natural tone.

As a company, one of Breedlove's main focuses is on the ecological impact of the materials they use to produce their superb instruments. To this end, they insist on several policies as a company including never utilising wood from clear-cut stock, and only using fallen or sustainably felled trees. The result is a guitar built with fantastic quality materials without impacting the future of the environment.

Features We Love:

Solid Top

Breedlove guitars all sport sustainably sourced solid wood tops for maximum tonal character and projection. This model features a handsome Western Red Cedar top. Often an overlooked choice of tonewood, Western Red Cedar has a warmth an glow to its sound that responds particularly well on nylon strung instruments.

Ecotonewood Back & Sides

Breedlove's Layered Ecotonewood back & sides aren't just the old basic plywood with a fancy veneer, instead, utilising three layers of sustainably sourced tonewood. In this case, a layer of mahogany is sandwiched between two layers of Myrtlewood for a rich, complex tone and handsome grain pattern. This construction method has been developed by Breedlove to deliver all the durability and low-cost-benefits of layered woods, while avoiding the typically soft-center of ply that can dampen tonal response. The result is a guitar that's still packed full of superb tone and character, without breaking the bank.

Concert Body Shape

Breedlove's Concert is their most popular body shape, favoured by a host of players thanks to its well balanced and comfortable profile feels compact, but doesn't sound it! It generates an articulate tone with plenty low end without being boomy, and lends itself to everything from precise fingerpicking to full on big strums.
