James Tyler began his career by performing guitar upgrades and repairs in the early 70s. Over the next 20 years his reputation for precision work grew and he became a go to luthier of top session players in the LA studio scene. In the late 80s the first Tyler guitar was unveiled, taking everything he'd learned from dealing with musicians and using that knowledge to create the ultimate performer's guitar. Since 2014 James Tyler have offered a Japanese made line of guitars which are slightly more affordable but still possess the superior build quality, reliability and unique design that all Tyler guitars are loved for.
