Fresh on the heels of our 50th Anniversary collection, we’re thrilled to announce two permanent additions to the Taylor line that expand on the celebratory Builder’s Edition guitars offered in 2024. This pair of Grand Auditorium models bring all the refinement and comfort-centric design elements that set our Builder’s Edition collection apart— chamfered body edges, hand-friendly cutaways and beveled armrests, all creating a seamless interaction between player and guitar. The duo includes two variants: one with Honduran rosewood back and sides and an Adirondack spruce top and another with a sinker redwood soundboard. Honduran rosewood’s density and high damping factor make it a dream body wood, serving up complex harmonic texture and blooming overtones complemented by high-fidelity trebles and a rich low-end response. Adirondack spruce yields a remarkable dynamic range, allowing players to dig in with a strong attack without sacrificing clarity or articulation. The gorgeously striped sinker redwood featured in these models generate cedar-like warmth and a more rounded, mellow quality compared to spruce, with a high volume ceiling and exceptional soft-touch sensitivity.

Visually, both Builder’s Edition 814ce models sport an elegant, yet understated look. A subtle Kona edgeburst showcases the naturally striking variegation of the Honduran rosewood back and sides. Both models feature an edgeburst top treatment and a full-body gloss finish. Other visual highlights include a smoky West African ebony fretboard, single-ring green abalone rosette with Indian rosewood trim, black/maple/rosewood top purfling, Element fretboard inlays in mother-of-pearl with a matching headstock logo, Indian rosewood pickguard, and antique gold Gotoh 510 tuners.
