Tone Wood Options

The new Fender Limited Edition American Performer Timber Collection has provided a beautifully crafted Fender Stratocaster, that we all know and love but with an extra special choice of tone wood.There are three stunning body wood types and finishes to choose from, which we rarely see as standard. These are Sassafras with a satin Mocha finish, Sugar Pine with a satin 2-Colour Sunburst finish and Spruce with a satin Honey Burst finish. All satin finishes give this range a smoothness that feels great in the hand and shows off the woods natural beauty.

Yosemite Pickups

The pickups are new Yosemite units, hand-wound and made specially for this range. These pickups are relatively high output and have a well defined, bold sound. The three single-coiled pickups can achieve stratocaster clean tone, though it even includes, a reverse-wound/reverse-polarity (RWRP) middle pickup which is used to reduce hum, for a clearer sound.

Greesebucket Tone Circuit

Fender have also included their excellent Greasebucket Tone circuit. The Greasebucket is basically a tone control that does its job properly. Turning back the knob removes treble frequencies without ruining every other part of your sound like some standard tone circuits do. You’ll find yourself using the Tone knob a lot more than before when you have the Greasebucket in there!

Push/Pull Tone Control

A nice additon to these Stratocasters are the Push/Pull pot that activates the neck pickup. This allows players to blend the neck pickup into their sound, regardless of the position on the 5-way selector.This paves a great way to enjoy and create more sounds by combining the tones of pickups together.
