Manufacturer's ID: U5T2
If you shoot videos with two speaking subjects on-camera, the U5T2 package doubles up on the transmitters and microphones. The U5’s wireless technology also allows you to broadcast your 2.4 GHz signal to more than one receiver, meaning you can send to two video cameras, or one camera and one mixer or audio recorder. The flexible U5 products are also available à la carte, so you can expand your system with a U5T Transmitter, U5R Receiver, LV1 Lavalier Microphone, LV2 Lavalier Microphone, or U5C Battery Charger with three U5B Batteries.
WIRELESS FREEDOM: CAUGHT ON VIDEO
Just about any video shoot scenario benefits from wireless audio, and the U5 system’s generous 100-foot wireless range gives your speaking subject total freedom—for vlogs, livestreams, interviews, webinars, tutorials and more! The U5 Receiver is “true diversity”, which means that each of its two channels has two antennas, providing outstanding signal stability.
CLEARLY CAPTURED CONVERSATIONS
The LV1 Lavalier Microphone (included with the U5 and U5T2 sets)—and its more compact cousin the LV2—capture speech clearly on high-resolution 24-bit / 48 kHz digital audio, with no audible hiss, hum or background noise. The frequency response is very even and accurate throughout the range of human speaking, but the U5 Transmitter cuts the sound below 100 Hz to ensure that your mic signal is rumble-free. The latency between the transmitter and receiver is an unnoticeable 6 milliseconds.
AUDIO DEVICES ALSO WELCOME
Instead of sending a lavalier microphone signal wirelessly, you can also connect the U5 Transmitter to another mono audio source such as a mixer or audio player, using the 3.5 mm (1/8”) line in. Similarly, instead of connecting to a DSLR or video camera, the receiver can send its signal to an audio device such as a mixer or recorder.
STEREO AND MONO OPTIONS
The dual channel receiver can receive signal from one or two transmitters, and its stereo output can send on the signal to the DSLR (or audio device) however you like. When using one transmitter, run in Mono mode and either balance the left and right sides equally, or run one side quieter than the other if you’re worried about clipping (if one side clips, you can remove it in the edit; simply normalize and center the clean track). When the receiver is accepting two signals, either mix them on the fly and commit to the blend in Mono mode; or, separate them left and right in Stereo mode, and blend them later as desired in the editing stage.
SAFETY FIRST
The transmitters are fitted with very sturdy belt clips, which keep them firmly secured during use. They’re also small enough to fit in a pocket! The LV1 Lavalier Microphones are designed with 3.5 mm screw-in plugs: this ensures that your mic will never get accidentally disconnected. The power switch is also designed to avoid mishaps—its virtually impossible to turn off by mistake, and sliding the power switch to the “hold” position disables the unit’s controls, preventing you from accidentally changing settings during use.
READY FOR LONG SHOOTS
The U5 System uses proprietary Xvive rechargeable lithium-ion batteries. They charge with any 5V USB power supply in two-and-a-half hours (either while in the transmitter/receiver units or the U5C Charger), and give you five hours of continuous performance. But the units can be plugged into power during use; and the batteries are removable, meaning that if your shoots last longer than five hours, you can carry backup U5B batteries and swap out in seconds.

- Line-in option allows you to use second transmitter for another mono audio source such as a mixer or audio player
- The two transmitters can be used to wirelessly broadcast left and right channels from a mixer or audio player
Please note: Camera and gimbal are not included
