Retaining all the authenticity and charm that has appealed to creative musicians ever since Cigar Box Guitars were first crafted and played throughout the USA in the late 1800’s, the underlying theme throughout the exquisite Lace™ Cigar Box instruments, is the professional luthier level of construction and superior hardware, offering excellent playability and exceptional tone.

Visually stunning with custom artwork, the Lace Cigar Box Guitar which is made in Southern California has a fresh sound, designed for ease of playability, delivering Rock, Alternative, Country, Blues or Jazz music on both the three or four string boxes.

Fitted as standard on all 3 and 4 string models the Matchbook™ pickup, made in the USA, is the first patented pickup designed specifically for the Cigar Box Guitar using Lace’s™ Alumitone® “Current Driven” design. The Matchbook™ is designed to resemble an actual Matchbook with the one magnet featured as the “striker”. This innovative pickup operates with a zero noise-floor with double coil power and single coil clarity via a push-pull volume pot and offers a mean or clean tone.

Built from robust pressboard and mahogany veneer with a satin gloss finish and chromed metal protective corners, these cool, lightweight and portable instruments are built to last, whilst a one-piece hard rock maple neck, double adjustable truss rod and 20 fret maple fingerboard, offer exceptional playability.

The bridge is a steel plate design offering 20mm of adjustability allowing for perfect intonation of each string. The machineheads are open gear type reminiscent of classic vintage instruments and sport a 14:1 gear ratio, along with a precision cut bone nut, ensure tuning stability, accurate intonation, excellent sustain and harmonics.
