What we say:

At A Glance

The Commodore Overdrive Pedal from Solid Gold FX might have a retro look but its design keeps it ready for a bright future of tonal brilliance. Fans of the 90's may well recognise where this pedal derives its sonic palette from but it moves far beyond that. Solid Gold FX has created something new and exciting here, with the Commodore capable of adding crunch and break-up drive sounds as well as subtle boosts.

Features We Love:

Retro Style

The Commodore Overdrive Pedal is very simple to use thanks to its 4 faders which control the Volume, Tone, Contour, and Drive levels. It also gives the pedal a very cool retro style that matches well with its name and artwork.

Classic Inspiration

Taking its cues from a famous 90's BluesBreaker, the Commodore goes one step further and mixes in elements of their Imperial MKII. It features a low to mid-gain asymmetric clipping drive circuit which makes it very versatile as well as delivering a very distinctive sound that can be sculpted to your needs.

Extra Headroom

Although the Commodore can be powered by any standard negative center 9 V DC power supply, you can opt to use an 18 V DC power supply for extra headroom. Doing so can be a great way to add an extra edge to your sound that might result in you wanting to keep the Commodore switched on at all times!

Who Is It For?

Fans of retro overdrive circuits who want modern tone shaping capabilities will find the Commodore to be right up their street. From Blues to Rock, this pedal can play a part in creating many excellent tones.

Highlights:

  • Very cool retro style
  • Easy to control
  • Can be used in a number of tone sculpting ways, from boost to break-up and beyond!
