This Fender Custom Shop Vintage Custom '59 Hardtail Stratocaster Time Capsule in Faded Aged Sonic Blue is a fantastic recreation of a truly rare beast, the 1950's era Hardtail Stratocaster. Typically known of course for its innovative synchronised tremolo system, some players just didn't get on board with all those springs! As a result, Fender released their hardtail model, giving birth to an almost cult like following of players who swear by the Strat's non-whammyable format.

This guitar boasts some true-to-era features like the '54 Style "U" neck carve, 7.25" to 9.5" Vintage Compound Radius fingerboard,  and the sublime Hand-Wound '55 Strat® Pickups, giving you all the clarity and throatiness the 50's Strats were known for. Handwound 55 Pickups

These superb pickups stunningly recreate all the glassy, shimmering cleans and throaty growls that the Strat's of this era are made of, wound a little hotter than their earlier counterparts and therefore hitting your amp just that bit harder for some serious overdriven power. Paired with the non-vibrato, hardtail construction and you've got a Strat with buckets of snarl and punch when you need it, but still packed with the chiming cleans we all know and love.

Time Capsule Finish

This guitar boasts the Fender Custom Shop's Time Capsule finish. This ultra thin finish allows for stunning resonance in the instrument, and sports no relic-ing, giving it the look of a fresh out the box guitar from the early '50s. As a result, this guitar will age handsomely with the player, just like the originals back in the day.
