What we say:

At A Glance:

This is the guitar that started the legacy of Gibson Jumbo Acoustics. Released in 1934 and only in production for two years, these guitars quickly became a rarity and absolute favourite of artists if they could get their hands on one.

When Gibson released the Jumbo in1934, it was the largest body Gibson offered which made for a fantastic instrument and is today considered to represent the Gibson sound heard by world-renowned artists and collectors.

Thoughtfully recreated, Gibson have managed to bring this legend back to the market.

Features We Love:

Jumbo Body

The sheer size of this instrument makes for a great sound. As the body is so big, the sound created from the strings is able to reverberate around the guitar and bounce back out of the sound hole loud and clear. The use of Thermally Aged Adirondack red spruce for the top wood is also a great feature as it creates a fantastic soundboard for the sound to reverberate off of.

A Legend Reborn

This was the first Gibson Acoustic to adopt their now popular 'Jumbo' body shape. An innovation that has continued to be a part of Gibson's lineup of instruments since it's release in 1934. Now, having been recreated by Gibson themselves, the original Jumbo Gibson Acoustic is once again available.

Pros:

  • Jumbo body size for loud and clear projection
  • A loving recreation of an original legend
