What we say:
At A Glance
Gibson Custom Shop have stepped back in time to 1967 with the recreation of this Flying V with Vibrola tailpiece. Originally introduced in 1958, the V body shape has rightly earned a place in guitar history. When it was reintroduced in 1967 with the added vibrato it added more versatility to a favourite model. The extremely talented Custom Shop team have accurately recreated all the fine details including the neck profile and other contours. The Custombuckers sound satisfying with smooth highs and warm lows. The overall result is an exemplary guitar that does justice to the past but also provides the player with a top quality instrument.
Features We Love:
Custombucker Alnico III Pickups
Gibson have not stopped at the aesthetics but have made sure that the pickups here also perform to the same high standard as the guitar itself. Taking influence from PAF tones, they offer a warm, well balanced and full sound. This means they handle clean tones just as well as when you apply some gain.
Vibrola Tailpiece
It may look strange to some at first glance but the Vibrola tailpiece is a great feature. Having the ability to add some expressive movement to chords and notes opens up a whole new world of possibilities.
Gibson Custom Shop Quality
Gibson Custom Shop is known for their attention to detail and finesse, both of which are present here in abundance. From the authentic '67 neck profile to the hide glue fit, these tiny elements come together to form an accurate recreation of a vintage guitar but without any of the complications that come with an instrument of significant age.
Highlights:
- A high quality recreation of a classic model
- Tremolo capabilities on a flying V
- A high quality instrument from Gibson Custom Shop
