What we say:

At A Glance:

The ESC80 gives young and smaller guitarists a comfortable, quality instrument to set them up for a lifetime of passion and enjoyment in their playing. This guitar punches well above its weight with quality materials and construction that far exceeds its price, giving your budding guitarist a solid starting point that will be with them for years to come.

Features We Love:

Body Size

The ESC80 features a 3/4 size with a shorter 24" scale length neck, making everything just a little smaller and more confortable. This makes it ideal for young guitarists ensuring that the potentially cumbersome body size of a full size guitar doesn't get in the way of their desire to learn and play.

Quality

Don't be mistaken by the price, the ESC80 is no mere cheap starter guitar - that name on the headstock means your guitar is built with the care and attention to detail that one expects from the Fender name.

Strings

As a classical guitar, the ESC80 is strung with nylon strings. Nylon strings have long been popular with beginning guitarists as they typically have lower tension, so require less pressure to fret a note, and the nylon strings don't dig into inexperienced fingertips as hard as metal acoustic strings can.

Pros:

  • 3/4 body size and short 24" scale length - Great for smaller and younger guitarists
  • Nylon strings are great for beginners and less experienced guitarists
  • Built with a quality and reliability that far exceeds its price

Customer reviews

Overall Rating 4.9/5 (21 reviews)

Bought this three-quarter size guitar for my 22-year-old granddaughter to take to a camp. It’s a good quality instrument with a remarkably good tone if you are looking for a small and inexpensive Spanish nylon guitar

It’s a great guitar and I enjoyed playing it for the day. Lovely neck profile with a good sound for the money. BUT I realised after buying it that it wasn’t suitable for travelling. Unfortunately 3/4 size is still a bit too big for me.

Luke M. - 18/4/2023

Choice presented is within budget and quality is excellent.

This is a Christmas present for my grandson, so can’t comment further. I’m sure he will love it as he plays with his mothers which is clearly too large for him.

Great little guitar for the price.

My daughter loves her guitar. It sounds great and it looks amazing.

Michelle G. - 7/8/2021

I'm impressed by build quality and feel of the guitar, especially considering the price. Highly recommended.

Martyn W. - 28/7/2021

A great buy and now being well used.

David R. - 16/7/2021

This guitar is very good for the price, good lower tones, the high tones are a little thinner but it is a small guitar, it has a very earthy and natural sound, perfect for bossa and jazz...and it is so easy to play!! The feeling is very nice, the size perfect if ypu want to travel with it (when it's possible again). I love it.

As expected. No issues. Standard.

Brian B. - 2/12/2020

It was either this or a Yamaha CS40. After trying them both I felt the nut width was better suited to small hands and the build quality felt better.

Andy F. - 16/11/2020

Guitar seems fantastic - great quality and value for money.
