Onyx Preamps

The desk features 11 of Mackie's award-winning Onyx microphone preamps. The Onyx has been designed to provide a clear sound with any microphone, even ribbon mics that often require extra power to reach their sweet spot are able to deliver a clear signal using the Onyx.

Monitor Channels

The desk features 3 monitor channels each with their own outputs, letting you create custom monitor and headphone mixes for stage and studio use. Your FX can also be blended into each monitor channel which can be used to create atmosphere and vibe or smooth out the sound.

Effects

The built-in GIGFX Effects Engine features 24 high-quality effects that can be dialled in to each channel to add a professional sound to your production. Alternatively, the GIGFX engine can be bypassed and you can use the FX output to rout your audio to your own outboard FX equipment. The effects can also be conveniently bypassed via a compatible footswitch.

Inserts

Channels 1 through 8 each feature an insert connection, letting you add outboard effects independently to each channel, this is great for dynamic effects like gates, limiters and compressors.

Built-In Compression

Channels 1 to 8 also feature one-knob compression that lets you quickly find a more controllable and consistent sound. This is great for use with microphones and acoustic guitars.

Subgroups

The desk features two subgroup that let you assign multiple channels to be controlled via one fader. This is great for use with sources like drum kits, or multiple backing singer or guest microphones, which are generally ridden up and down as a group rather than individually. The subgroups also feature their out outputs, meaning you can use them to create different audio zones in your venue.

USB Recording and Routing

The ProFX16v3 gives you the ability to connect your computer and record your stereo mix into your favourite recording software and route two stereo channels back into the mixer. This makes the mixer ideal for podcasts and live streaming and lets you digitally play music and audio clips into the desk for mixing, letting you record your whole session to a file or stream live without the need for patching extra cables.

Bundled Software

The ProFX16v3 comes bundled with some great audio software to get you recording with your computer straight out of the box. Included in the bundle is Tracktion's award-winning Waveform OEM DAW package and DAW Essentials Collection which gives you 16 contemporary effect plugins to use with any DAW.
