What we say:

At A Glance:

At first glance, this Les Paul may look like most others. But dig a little deeper and you'll soon find it has a few tricks up its sleeve...

A classic, this guitar has the usual Les Paul specs, mahogany neck and body, Tune-O-Matic bridge, 22 frets, but what differentiates this model is its set of Push/Pull switches in the volume and tone controls. This gives you a much more comprehensive set of sounds that you're able to achieve, right at your fingertips!

Features We Love:

Push/Pull Switches

Working in conjunction with the ‘zebra’ 60s Burstbucker pickups, these switches provide options like coil-tapping, phase inverting and also a ‘pure bypass’ which allows the electrical signal to dodge the tone circuit entirely. This last option is a pleasant surprise, as the guitar instantly sounds louder and a little brighter.

Slim Taper Neck Profile

The neck profile of a guitar is greatly important to how it feels when playing. The Slim Taper shape on this model offers comfort for the player and gives access to the higher frets allowing you to reach all the way to the top of the fretboard when you're rocking out! However, this is a Gibson after all, although named 'Slim Taper' there is still plenty to grab on to.

Les Paul Shape

Nothing screams rock and roll like a Gibson Les Paul. This distinctive shape is an icon, used by countless musicians such as Slash, Jimmy Page, Billy Gibbons, Joe Perry, and of course Les Paul himself! The Les Paul gives you the sound, and the looks you need to take your music to the next level

Highlights:

  • Push/Pull switches give discrete options for extra tone control
  • Slim Taper neck gives great access across the fretboard

I’ll admit that my two previous Gibsons (both sold quickly) left me very wary indeed re quality control and I was very cautious when buying the Classic. I’m pleased to say I needn’t have worried as the build to top notch and tidy and the guitar was perfectly set up and is a joy to play. The real fun comes when plugged in however. The coil tap and phase switches unleash an incredible range of tones and being burstbusters the core Les Paul sound is there. I haven’t even scratched the surface in terms of what’s possible. Mine is the ebony black and looks amazing. For £1799 it was a very good deal. GuitarGuitar were super fast and I ordered on the Saturday and received the guitar on Sunday. I’ve always had a very positive experience when buying from them. Very happy and pleased to see Gibson has addressed the QC issues Really tempted by the Theodore Standard next. Saw one at the Gibson Garage (if this stays open pigs will fly!) and to me it’s a thing of beauty - just hoping for a price reduction at guitarguitar!

Not what I thought I’d choose but it’s a versatile, beautiful guitar with the slim neck I was looking for. It’s comfortable for me to play so I practice longer without really noticing the time passing.

I have wanted to own a Les Paul for over 50 years. Far too late in the day, but I am over the moon!

Fantastic Guitar with great feel

Amazing guitar, plays and sounds great. Good quality case. Muti-tool feels cheap and could break easily.

It?s just a beauty, haven?t put it down yet - much to the wife?s occasional annoyance! It is my 40th birthday pressie though.
