What we say:
At A Glance:
The Taylor 612ce is a luxury Grand Concert acoustic with V-Class bracing. It features beautiful, quality woods, a brilliant pickup system and some lovely finishing touches. The Grand Concert body and shorter scale length make it a very manageable size that's easy to play for long sessions. This body size and scale length combo lends itself to lighter playing such as fingerstyle, however, being a Taylor it has plenty of resonance should you wish to switch to heavier play styles. An elegant cutaway gives easy access to the upper frets making it great for those who incorporate lead parts and solos into their playing.
Features We Love:
Quality Woods
The 612ce has maple back and sides. Maple is known for the rich tone it provides along with a smooth warmth. This works beautifully with the Sitka spruce top in order to produce a clear and sophisticated sound.
V-Class Bracing
Developed by Taylor’s Master Builder Andy Powers, this is an innovative style of bracing. It tackles the issue of achieving sustain and tone without sacrificing volume. V-Class bracing allows the guitar’s top to move and vibrate in a more stable manner, resulting in more focus and response from the wood. This control means more volume and projection. The ‘V’ of the bracing travels the middle of the guitar, maintaining rigidity and lending sustain and resonance to your notes. V-Class bracing means a louder, richer sound with better intonation and response.
Expression System 2
This is widely recognised as one of the greatest acoustic pickup systems available. It translates every ounce of tone, detail and dynamic from your fingertips, strings and guitar wood. This gives the audience an accurate and fully realistic translation of your performance.
Who Is It For?
With its slightly shorter scale and smaller body size it's perfect for those lighter styles of playing. It's also a good choice for those who just prefer a smaller size acoustic as this Taylor still packs plenty of resonance for strumming styles.
Highlights:
- Great sound produced by quality woods
- Perfect for the performing or recording musician
- Suited to a wide variety of playing styles and musical genres
