What we say:
Landlord FX like to have fun with their pedal names. This one, without a doubt, raised the most laughs when we first received it! We’re not quite sure what this particular ‘problem’ has to do with Chorus pedals but we like it!
So, the Brewer’s Droop is a Chorus pedal, made with a classic ‘Bucket Brigade’-style chip. Otherwise referred to as BBD, Bucket Brigade chips lose a little of the your sound’s top end as the signal passes through the circuit, lending pedals with BBD circuits a much-loved warmth. In effect, it’s like having a naturally occurring low-pass filter always set to ‘on’ within your pedal.
In Chorus terms, that is great news! This pedal sounds superb: it has a good amount of character and depth without sounding too ‘multi-fx preset’: it has that great sense of movement and shimmer that fans of vintage Chorus units go wild for!
Arpeggiated chords, picked-out clean runs and atmospheric chords all sprang forth from our rig with a level of quality we honestly didn’t expect. This deserves to be tried out alongside Chorus pedals that are three or four times the price. We’re impressed.
Talking about this pedal without resorting to bad puns is immensely difficult so we’ll simply say that this is definitely an occasion where you’ll be more than happy to experience a little bit of Brewer’s Droop!
