What we say:

At A Glance:

This stunning dreadnought from Atkin is hand-made in Canterbury to the highest possible standards. It's a beautiful take on the classic 'Pre-war' style acoustic, with a large, stunning sound. This graceful, understated instrument has a surprisingly loud voice, making it a perfect choice for discerning singer-songwriters. The Atkin D37 Aged has been sympathetically aged to give the guitar a most convincing 'worn in' look and feel.

Features We Love:

Sitka Spruce Top and Rosewood Body

It's a classic combination, especially with this body type! The brightness and body are there, with just the right amount of midrange sculpt to sound incredible.

'Heritage' detailing

The Atkin D37 has an Ebony fingerboard and Herringbone purfling, adding quality, authenticity and charm to the instrument. Toned nitrocellulose lacquer, aged realistically without being heavy-handed, finishes off a most impressive guitar in the correct manner!

Dynamically Rich

As we mentioned, this is a loud instrument, but it is also a wonderfully dynamic one. The Atkin D37 will respond amazingly well to your touch, bringing depth to your playing.

Highlights:

  • Classic looks
  • Wonderful sound
  • Exceptional build quality
  • Superlative Relic detailing.

Customer reviews

Overall Rating 4.7/5 (3 reviews)

Kieran R. - 21/8/2024

All round beautiful guitar in looks and sound. Made with true care and attention.

Charles S. - 24/1/2022

Seems to have been the right choice -- a bit soon to say definitively. The Martin of the same price gave me great confidence, but I was persuaded that more processes had gone into the making of the Atkin, and in any case it seemed more interesting to buy an instrument where I could if necessary even be in contact with the maker, and in any case the shop. It is the first time I have bought a hand-made acoustic, so difficult to judge, but it may be that some adjustments might be necessary, so I am very pleased to have a shop nearby where I can come and discuss such things.
