What we say:

At A Glance:

For over 50 years, the D28’s slightly fancier brother has proved continually popular: over the years it’s found it’s way into the hands of players like Elvis ‘The King’ Presley and David ‘The Floyd’ Gilmour to name but two of the D35’s illustrious owners.

This particular D-35 is part of Martin's Reimagined Series. The Reimagined Series is, as the name suggests, a new perspective on the famous Martin Standard range. The changes are subtle but welcome: the clear coat finish has a tinted toner to give a more aged appearance; the headstock bears an older-style logo & open gear tuners; the body has aged binding and the neck is a modern carve for a more comfortable feel.

The D35’s most distinctive feature is actually on it’s back: the 3 piece triangular design made of rosewood makes it easy to spot. Mother of Pearl inlays convey a hint of luxury, as does the bound ebony fretboard. Looks wise, it retains that Martin & Co simple elegance but with just a touch of…more. Sound wise, it’s big and confident, encouraging enthusiastic strums and melodies. All in all, the D35 is an enduring classic since 1965 and will be for decades to come.

Features We Love:

Dreadnought Body Shape

Martin's Dreadnought body creates a rich tone with plenty of depth, clarity and character. The larger body also makes it great for strumming, giving a consistent volume and even tone without impacting your dynamic range.

Martin Forward Shifted X-Brace

Martin's X-Brace system dates back almost 200 years, designed to present the perfect balance between reliability and optimised tonal quality, in a guitar that will last a lifetime. This "forward-shifted" and scalloped design moves the X towards the neck and removes wood mass, retaining support and rigidity whilst allowing the section behind the bridge to resonate. The result is a reliable guitar that is loud and offers a spectacular bass response, pronounced tone and singing resonance.

3-Piece Rosewood Back

This guitar has a simplicity to its look, with no need for flashy inlays or appointments. The back however, delivers a subtle elegance to this model. The three piece rosewood back is simple but brings with it a spark to the design.

Modified Low Oval Neck Shape

This neck shape is suited to those with smaller hands or who prefer a slimmer neck. With this model, you'll be able to play for hours on end without hand pain getting in your way.

Highlights:

  • Dreadnought body shape is great for projection and volume
  • Martin's X-Brace gives great balance between reliability and fantastic tone
  • Rosewood back brings subtle elegance
  • Modified Low Oval neck sits comfortably in the fretting hand
