The result of months of R&D produced the early 60’s series which helped to set Artist Series apart from other solid top lines and go on to win a host of awards at shows and in guitar magazines around the world. Since then, the construction and design continue to be redefined making the Artist 60’s series a pretty hard bunch to compare.

The premium North American Sitka top is hand selected and paired with high quality laminated African Mahogany backs and sides. The response is quick and its voice open and dynamic. This cutaway model is finished in our flawless Shadowburst.

It compares to the £2500.00 Gibson Hummingbird but I would have to fit LR Baggs pick up but I think I will. Really nice guitar and sounds punchy when giving it big hits,also really nice when played low to. The guys at guitarguitar have always been helpfull both in Edinburgh store and in Glasgow store as I have bought from both stores,the choices of guitars are vast and unrivalled. Brilliant products.

This guitar cost L249. I have a number of higher end guitars and wanted something to keep out of the case for knocking around with. The guitars fit and finish was perfect. The burst is very nice and I?d happy pay double what they charged. The set up wasn?t amazing out the box and needed some work on the nut and saddle to get the action to a comfortable level. I?d expect to have done more than this with a guitar at this price. The frets were level and the neck was straight. This guitar is now super easy to play, nice fast neck and it responds really well to different playing styles. I really can?t believe how good this thing sounds for the money. The Spruce top is nice. The tuners are much smoother than I expected and the bone nut and saddle is a bonus. I gig 2-3 times a week and mainly use a J-45 or my 000-15m Martin. I?ve decided I?m going to put a pickup in the Alvarez and start taking it out I like it that much.
