Manufacturer's ID: TUBEPRE V2
What we say:
At A Glance:
The Presonus TubePre V2 Tube Preamp/DI Box brings the warmth and excitement of a valve based channel strip and features Presonus' premium XMAX Class A solid-state preamp to ensure you can get a pristine signal, but can dial in a bit of character when required.
Features We Love:
Drive and Gain
The Drive and Gain controls let you find the perfect blend of audio clarity and valve saturation. Drive sets how much of the valve is in your signal, this takes you from completely clean all the way up a fat saturation, while the Gain control lets you find your signal's sweet spot.
Phase Switch
The TubePre features additional controls to get the best out of your session. The phase reversal switch is extremely useful for finding the correct phase placement in your mix and means you can print in phase to your recording without needing to open any plugins to fix it when it comes to mixing.
Instrument Switch
The Instrument switch drops the impedance down to instrument level, so you can plug your guitar straight into the TubePre and it won't clip as you play harder.
80Hz Switch
The 80Hz switch cuts out any signal that sits below 80Hz, this is useful when recording vocals with a condenser microphone, you won't lose any of your vocal, but all of that problematic low end rumble caused by ambient noise like the traffic outside will be eliminated from your recording.
+48B Switch
This kicks in the Phantom Power that is essential when using condenser microphones. This supplies your mic with the required power and ensures a strong and consistent signal.
Who Is It For?
Producers and musicians who want to bring some variety and excitement into their recording process.
Highlights:
- A clear and precise preamp for microphones and instruments
- Easily add some valve charm to your recordings
