Swedish Neo-Classical maestro Yngwie Malmsteen caused quite a stir when he appeared on the metal scene in the 80s. He chose a 70s Stratocaster to set alight those incredible incendiary runs of fluid speed and dexterity. This guitar is Yngwie's signature model and it's one of Fender's best-selling guitars!
A number of interesting features mark this out as separate from the rest of the Strat clan: scalloped frets (a concave shape shaved into the wood on the fingerboard) making lightning-fast flurries more achievable; hot sounding Seymour Duncan pickups provide some fire and clarity whilst remaining hum-free and a brass nut translates more tone back to the pickups for a sizzling sound!
The 70s-style construction (large headstock, bullet truss rod) is a nod to Malmsteen's hero Ritchie Blackmore as well as being pure Yngwie and the Vintage White finish exudes class.
This wild animal is not a guitar for the faint-hearted!
