The Rode M1-S is one of our most popular vocal mics. With an accurate cardioid polar pattern and lockable switch, it's an excellent mic for singers, comperes and even for karaoke.

Dynamic Cardioid

The backbone of on stage microphones has to be the dynamic cardioid. Used on everything from guitar cabs and snare drums, to of course, vocals. The dynamic format is more comfortable with high sound pressure levels compared to condenser microphones. This makes them ideal for capturing the power of a voice without distorting. In addition to this, the cardioid polar pattern focuses its capture directly in front of the capsule, this minimises spillage from other instruments and makes it less prone to feedback. Also unlike condenser microphones, it doesn't require phantom power.

Switch

The microphone features a switch for turning it on and off, this is ideal for comperes and for use during presentations. Conveniently, the switch can be locked in the On position for those who don't require this feature.

Lockable XLR

For those who are concerned with the microphone being stolen at a gig or flying off the end of the XLR cable (we're looking at you Roger Daltrey), the M1-S allows you to lock the connection so it can't be removed.
