Manufacturer's ID: KOH MICROKORG
What we say:
At A Glance:
The Microkorg from Korg is still going strong since its release in 2002. The affordable synthesizer helped shape modern music and can be heard on countless albums. This is thanks to its compact size, flexible sound engine, vocoder and easy to use interface. The Microkorg is perfect for adding synths to a live or studio setup without breaking the bank.
Features We Love:
Powerful Synthesis Engine
The synthesis engine on the Microkorg is very flexible and offers a large variety of waveforms, and deep editing controls. Not to mention the unit is packed with fantastic presets that inspire creativity from the moment you switch it on. I’m sure you could pick out plenty of factory presets on modern songs if you listen closely enough.
Vocoder
The Vocoder on the Microkorg is undoubtedly one of its greatest features. By using the on-board microphone, you can play your voice like an instrument on the keys. This is really easy to use, and can be a powerful musical tool to have in your arsenal.
Compact and Affordable
The Microkorg is very compact thanks to it’s 37-mini key design. It makes a great addition to a live or studio rig, where you need a flexible synthesizer and space is limited. This is notably good for guitarists or singers who want to add some synths to their show without dedicating a large amount of stage space.
Highlights:
- Powerful, flexible synthesizer
- Compact design
- Very affordable
- Great vocoder on board
- Presets sound great
