To many, Stevie Ray Vaughan was and is one of the absolute masters of electric blues guitar. He defined a style that remains influential today and lives on through countless artists who loved and appreciated him. Fender collaborated with him shortly before his untimely death and the result of their work is this tribute SRV Strat: a guitar as mighty and capable as the man himself.This is almost like what Stevie Ray Vaughan's own Number One Strat may have looked like once upon a time in the far past before it accumulated it's (quite significant) battle damage! This model is no relic but that doesn't mean it's subtle: it's hard to miss the pickguard with the carved in 'SRV' or indeed the upside down gold whammy bar!
The neck is a good large oval shape topped with a 12" radius Pau Ferro board fitted with jumbo frets. This is most certainly a guitar for extended soloing, Texas style!
Talking of which, the pickups on board are Texas Specials: hot, overwound single coils that were originally designed for this signature guitar but have since become an extremely popular choice for players looking to upgrade their stock pickups with after-market modifications. It's a sound admired and revered by a great many guitar players.
SRV's Strat is big, bold and beautiful. Fans of the great man will understand when they pick this up and plug in.
