What is the Darkglass Anagram?

  • The answer to all bassists’ dreams
  • A comprehensive solution for all bass situations

The Darkglass Anagram is a brand new digital modeler and multi-fx processor made exclusively for bass. Darkglass already have a great reputation for their pedal preamps, and so the Anagram goes several steps further by offering itself as the only box you need to own as a bassist. It’s a comprehensive collection of amps, cabs, effects and utilities, making it a single-purchase solution for every bass tone you’ll reasonably need.

Amp models, cabinet models, effects and impulse responses (IRs) are all included, in a very handy-sized device. There’s a 7” touchscreen, operating system upgradeability, powerful 6-core processing and a bunch more of player-friendly features to accompany the raw power of the processor.

It’s also compact, built for a life on the road, and filled with the best sounds that Darkglass know how to make. For you and I, that means some of the best bass sounds available anywhere.

Who are Darkglass?

  • Bass pedal masterminds
  • From the people behind Neural DSP

Darkglass are a Finnish company who specialise in bass effects & preamps. They’ve been around for over 15 years and are now owned by Korg. The man behind Darkglass is Douglas Castro, who is perhaps better known as the founder of Neural DSP.

Not a bad pedigree!

Darkglass came onto most bassists’ radars due to their exceptional overdrive effects (like the Alpha Omega & the Microtubes), which balanced that tricky task of supplying thick, tasty gain for bass without robbing the instrument of all of its low end power. Their pedals have become trusted essentials for bass players across the world.

What Makes the Anagram So Special?

  • Bass-focused
  • Unparalleled power

The reason that the Anagram is causing such noise in the community is that this is the first time bassists have been given such power in a dedicated, specific-to-bass unit. Sure, bassists can and do use other digital modellers, but these other units are very focused on electric guitar, with only a small number of amp models and cabinets for bass players.

The Anagram has been designed from the ground up by bassists for bassists, and features all of the design know-how of Darkglass.

Bass players have never had it so good, and it’s high time they did!
