Battle of the Bands at guitarguitar Epsom!

Are you in a band? Trying to get heard and break through? If you think you’ve got what it takes to steal the hearts of the crowds then we want YOU to take part in guitarguitar’s first ever official Battle of the Bands!
Battle of the Bands
guitarguitar Epsom is a gang of talented musicians who have been there, done that. They thought there’s nothing better than an event FOR musicians, BY musicians so they’ve decided to throw a two-part Battle of the Bands to help local groups get heard!
This will take place at guitarguitar Epsom store in front of an audience. Just like a real gig!
Part 1 - Eliminations will see 6 bands playing 15 minute sets on Sunday 1st September, 6:00 pm.
Part 2 - Finals will see the 3 finalists playing 30 minute sets on Sunday 8th September, 6:00 pm.
This will be one hell of an exciting event which will be livestreamed on the guitarguitar Epsom’s Instagram page during both nights.
Full backline will be provided by guitarguitar and must be used by the bands (drum kit is electric, not acoustic).
Bands are to bring their own instruments, breakables and pedalboards.

How to Enter
Bands wanting to take part will have the chance to submit their entry from midday today, the 16th August. The deadline for submissions is midday 26th August.
Bands entering the contest MUST be available to commit to both dates to perform.

Our jury panel made up of guitarguitar staff will review each submission and pick six bands - the best of the best!
Part 1 - Eliminations
The chosen bands will then be contacted via the e-mail provided and invited to compete at the live eliminations event taking place at guitarguitar Epsom on Sunday the 1st September at 6:00 pm.
Bands can perform both cover and original songs. Band members must be 16+ years of age.
A panel of judges on the first night will select the best three bands which will go to the part 2 - the finals!
Part 2 - Finals
The winning three bands will return to the stage of guitarguitar Epsom for the thrilling night of the finals on Sunday the 8th August at 6:00 pm.
A panel of judges will pick the winner! The final verdict will be a 50/50 split between audience vote and guitarguitar staff judges vote.
Bands will be judged based on 3 categories; Musicianship, Performance and Originality.
The audience will vote by ballot slips handed out by staff.
The Prize
There will be prizes available for 3rd, 2nd and 1st place. The prizes are as follows:
1st place - Yamaha STAGEPAS 400BT
2nd place - Shure SE215-CL Earphones x 4
3rd place - guitarguitar goody bags for each band member

The Battle of the Bands is a live event just like any gig you’d go to.
The Battle of the Bands will take place at guitarguitar Epsom on Sunday the 1st September and Sunday the 8th September at 6:00 pm.
