It's not just the artists who help shape the landscape of the music industry but also certain brands and organisations. One of them, called Women Who Rock, stands out the most as it offers a refreshing insight into the music industry with the empowerment of women at its core.
Introducing: Women Who Rock
Women Who Rock is a trailblazing brand dedicated to supporting women in music through a dynamic range of initiatives, events, pop-up shops, benefit concerts featuring some of the biggest female artists (Orianthi, Sheila E., Melissa Etheridge, & more) and collaborations with established partners such as Gibson Gives and Hard Rock Cafe.
Founded by a Pittsburg, PA based musician and businesswoman - Melinda Colaizzi, Women Who Rock also offers a unique range of rockin’ apparel with empowering slogans, created to amplify its message as well as to offer proceedings towards its partnering Magee Womens Research Institute advocating for women’s health.
In 2023 Women Who Rock won the Live Nation Best of Live Award for “Best Fundraiser Event”; Forbes magazine published a feature on Melinda’s project in their Leadership section and this is only just the beginning.

As a fellow female working in the music industry, I was thrilled to have the opportunity to chat to Melinda. Having shared similar experiences and overcoming challenges as a woman in the guitar world, I found WWR to be the voice that the modern guitar-driven music scene has been missing.
