John Suhr and Pete Thorn Live Interview
Published on 18 December 2017
Continuing with our run of live interviews, we're very pleased to be able to share that this Wednesday (20/12/17) we have a particularly special couple of guests...
After gracing our stores with some of the finest instruments we've ever had the pleasure of playing, the one and only John Suhr, founder of Suhr Guitars is joining us for a live interview where we'll be discussing some of their latest creations. Starting out his illustrious career as a builder, John began working with the now legendary Rudy Pensa during the 80s, building guitars for artists such as Mark Knopfler, Eric Clapton and Steven Van Zandt, among others. Taking his expertise into amp design before moving to Fender's Custom shop, John opened Suhr Guitars in 1997 with the goal of building only the highest quality of instruments, setting a new standard for the electric guitar. Since then his name has become synonymous with craftsmanship and high-end quality. With a wide range of products including guitars, amps and effects, there's plenty for us to chat to John about and we can't wait to pick his brain about this fantastic brand.
Joining us will be one of the world's most acclaimed session musicians, the guitar nerd himself Pete Thorn. Perhaps most well-known for the time he spent playing and recording with artists like Courtney Love and Chris Cornell, Pete's resume reads like a who's who of popular culture. Over the years, his punk-edged sound and playing have earned him not only a Signature model but also a high-end amplifier, the PT100! In fact, he's even developed his own Thornbucker model pickups with the guys at Suhr, so we should have plenty to chat with him about!
We've witnessed first hand just how influential these guys have been and can't wait to speak with John and Pete. Join in via the link above where we'll be talking all things Suhr from 4pm.
