Jose Ramirez set up his workshop in Madrid in 1882. Since then, his classical guitars have become some of the most important instruments of all time, helping to define the Spanish style. Still run by the family and still handmade in Madrid, contemporary Jose Ramirez acoustic guitars are every bit as elegant as these iconic models. As an old business, their wood library is stunning. Most wood is dried for 40-60 years before being worked. This creates guitars which are stunningly touch-sensitive and resonant.
