The Fender American Ultra Jazz Bass is an advanced model of one of Fender's finest bass designs. This USA-made bass has several upgrades and appointments to make it appeal to bassists of all styles.

Firstly, the neck has been redesigned for a comfortable, contemporary feel. The combination of a new 'Modern D shape profile and a 10'-14' compound radius profile make this one of the most player-friendly basses available anywhere.

A set of newly designed Ultra Noiseless Vintage pickups provide a plethora of famous Jazz Bass sounds, all without any background hum. A redesigned preamp is used here too, for a sound that covers retro to modern.

The Fender American Ultra Jazz Bass directly replaces the American Elite series Jazz Bass.

The American Ultra Jazz Bass has an active preamp installed. The guitar's control knobs control the following: Master volume, Pickup panning/blending, Treble boost/cut, Mids boost/cut, Bass boost/cut, passive tone control and a toggle for active/passive modes.
Question: Who do I switch on the active preamp?
The active preamp actually turns on automatically when you connect your guitar lead. The active circuit can be deselected via the tiggle switch on the guitar, but do remember to unplug your bass when you aren't using it!
