The Fender American Performer Mustang is a modern take on a cult classic. The enduring appeal of this guitar lies in its compact body and 24” scale length. Although it was originally designed for kids, the Mustang is now loved by alternative rock bands because of its lightweight feel and jangly tone.

The Mustang is not without its eccentricities and the Fender American Performer Mustang does an excellent job of ironing these out. The sharp plastic pickup selectors which sit directly above the strings have instead been replaced by a conventional 3-way pickup selector, out of harm’s way on the lower bout. There is also a modern 9.5” radius with jumbo frets. This makes the Fender American Performer Mustang supremely playable.
