Takamine give us a quality parlour bodied model as part of their top of the line Pro Series with this P3NY acoustic guitar. This cutaway electro acoustic has what Takamine call their New Yorker body size and it is made with a solid Cedar top and solid Sapele back with laminated Sapele sides. The P3NY gives a full, warm and surprisingly loud sound that lends itself to fingerpicked parts. Playing this guitar is a real pleasure and reward you the more you play it: the solid top and back timbers will vibrate more and improve the more you play so the sonic depth will continue for years.
Visually the P3NY is an elegantly understated affair: there are nice details like the wooden soundhole rosette, the wooden dot-in-dot inlays and the gold & amber tuners. The guitar has a natural satin finish.
Taking the P3NY on stage? A fantastic CT4B II pickup and preamp system is installed to give you a great live sound, too. This system has a powerful preamp mounted on the shoulder of the guitar which includes a 3-band EQ and an electronic tuner to keep you right at all times!
This guitar is a very good all-rounder and acquits itself admirably well on stage and off.
