Assistant Store Manager (Full-Time)

Location: Newcastle


guitarguitar is looking to add a full-time Assistant Store Manager to our team in Newcastle.

 

As a member of our management team, you will represent both guitarguitar, the UK’s biggest guitar retailer, and the legendary brands and manufacturers we partner with.


About the Role:

The Assistant Store Manager is responsible for supporting the Store Manager in the overall commercial and operational success of the store. This person provides a key support in delivering the day to day operational functions of this busy store.

  • Drive the in-store revenue and commercial performance of the site through sales and customer service in person, over the phone and via email
  • Engage, excite, challenge and inspire the Sales and Dispatch teams
  • Working with the Store Manager to analyse, monitor and maximise sales figures
  • Deliver exceptional visual merchandising which is both visually appealing and commercially astute
  • Meet store operational requirements by supporting with scheduling and assigning employee rotas
  • Support the training of new Store Staff- Retail and Dispatch
  • Ensure compliance with operational and personnel policies, procedures and best practicewith reference to customer service, sales, HR and Health and Safety.
  • Drive the success of company initiatives and system improvements as they are rolled out
  • Assist with the management of stock levels and make key decisions about stock control
  • Liaise with GG purchasing to ensure the stocking needs of the store are met and within budget- Provide feedback on slow turning stock
  • Key holder - maintaining robust security systems and procedures
  • Protect employees and customers by providing a safe and clean store environment compliant with all company regulations and legislation
  • Support the achievement of store consumable targets

  • Retail Store Sales Team
  • Retail Store Logistics/ Dispatch Team

Assistant Store Manager reports to:

  • Store Manager/Operations Director

Essential to this role is an ability to sell, demonstrate products and excite and inspire the loyal customers who visit our stores and who make our business what it is.

You will be working directly under the supervision of our Store Management Team.

 

A successful candidate will:

  • Have an excellent understanding of guitars, musical and recording equipment.
  • Excel at demonstrating products to a good standard and always aim to inspire beginners and experienced musicians alike.
  • Be confident dealing with our customers face-to-face, on the telephone, via email, and across social media.
  • Be proactive in learning new products as and when they are released in order to keep up with an ever evolving market.
  • Be passionate about making guitarguitar an outstanding place to visit for all things music-related.
  • Take pride in finding great solutions for customers and working as part of a fantastic team.

Location: Newcastle

Based at our Newcastle offices, you will be part of a team of experts talking directly to our customers through email, social media, phone and LiveChat. You will represent guitarguitar in offering personalised product advice and always coming up with outstanding solutions for our customers.

We are looking for people who have excellent communication skills and enjoy interacting with people, as well as possessing a keen eye for opportunities to make sales. Ideally you will already play an instrument and are both knowledgeable and passionate about guitars and the products we sell.
