About Collings Electric Guitars

Collings Electric Guitars are hand made boutique instruments from Texas, which falls in line with Collings acoustic offerings. Between solid body and semi-hollow electrics, Collings tends towards classic, vintage sounds, with unmatched resonance and exceptional tone.

On the solid body side, the 71 series stands out with a Mustang-inspired body shape and Loll T-style pickups for a truly ‘70s look and feel. The other lines favour the Les Paul, single-cutaway outline, featuring a variety of pickup and bridge configurations to suit your sound All have a solid center block, for unrivalled sturdiness.

Meanwhile, the semi-hollow Collings electric guitars offer a more acoustic feel with added versatility, depending on your needs. The Ladybird and I-35 are just two examples, the former a strong contender for any modern blues and jazz enthusiast, while the latter will sit well in the hands of anyone who wants to throw around some rock ‘n’ roll, available in red, pelham blue, tobacco burst and other colorways.

Collings electric guitars take their inspiration from classic 50's 'Kalamazoo' designs. They're known to be some of the most playable and socially excellent in existence. The same painstaking finishing techniques used on the acoustic models are employed here. Layer upon layer of thin nitrocellulose coats is delicately sanded down before each subsequent layer is applied. This results in instruments of sumptuous beauty.
