Battle of the Bands at guitarguitar Epsom!
Calling all local bands in Epsom and London! Are you trying to get heard and break through? If you think you’ve got what it takes to steal the crowds then we want YOU to take part in this year’s guitarguitar’s official Battle of the Bands!
Battle of the Bands
After a successful first ever round of the Battle of the Bands held by our Epsom staff last year, it’s only right we wanted to do this all over again and help local groups get heard! A full on live music performance at guitarguitar Epsom store in front of an audience. Just like a real gig! This year’s BotB will take place in two parts:
Part 1 - The Heats: we will see 6 bands playing a 15 minute set on Sunday 10th August at 6:00 pm.
Part 2 - The Finals: will see the 3 finalists playing 30 minute sets on Sunday 31st August at 6:00 pm.
Full backline will be provided by guitarguitar and must be used by the bands (drum kit is electric, not acoustic).
Bands are to bring their own instruments, breakables and pedalboards.

How to Enter
Bands wanting to take part will have the chance to submit their entry from today, the 17th August. The deadline for submissions is end of day 28th July 2025.
Bands entering the contest MUST be available to commit to both dates to perform.

Our jury panel made up of guitarguitar staff will review each submission and pick six bands - the best of the best!
Part 1 - The Heats
The chosen bands will then be contacted via the e-mail provided and invited to compete at the live eliminations event taking place at guitarguitar Epsom on Sunday the 10th August at 6:00 pm.
Bands can perform both cover and original songs. Band members must be 16+ years of age.
A panel of judges on the first night will select the best three bands which will go to the part 2 - the finals!
Part 2 - The Finals
The winning three bands will return to the stage of guitarguitar Epsom for the thrilling night of the finals on Sunday the 31st August at 6:00 pm.
A panel of judges will pick the winner! We will have a special guest jury this year - Change Persona bandmembers, who won our BotB last year! Their career also took them to perform at the Takeover at Download Festival.
The final verdict will be a split between the audience votes, Change Persona votes and guitarguitar staff judges vote.
Bands will be judged based on 3 categories; Musicianship, Performance and Originality.
The audience will vote by ballot slips handed out by staff.
The Prizes
There will be special prizes sponsored by our partners for this event: Universal Audio and Yamaha - and of course guitarguitar - for 3rd, 2nd and 1st place. The prizes are as follows:
1st place - Volt 476P with 1x UAFX Amp pedal and 1x UAFX Effects pedal of choice
2nd place - Yamaha STAGEPAS 400BT
3rd place - guitarguitar Gift Card worth £100
